  1. Prof. Ayşegül Gölcü was appointed as a "Specialist" in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Literature, Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University in 1996. In 2001, she received her "Doctorate in Science" degree from Ankara University, Institute of Health Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Analytical Chemistry. In 2010, she went to the United States to do postdoctoral research on "electrochemical sensors" in the laboratory of Professor Petr Zuman, a doctoral student of Jaroslav Heyrovski, the Nobel laureate in chemistry, at Clarkson University. In 2012, she began working as a full-time professor in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Literature and Arts, at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, where he held academic and administrative positions for five years. In 2016, she was nominated for the "Ahmed Zewail" award in the fundamental field of "Molecular Sciences". In 2017, she transferred to the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Letters, Istanbul Technical University, where she is still employed. Since 2018, she has been collaborating with Prof. Omowunmi Sadik (New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA) on various projects focusing on "mechanisms by which natural compounds bind to double-stranded DNA". She has published over 150 national and international articles on spectrophotometric and voltammetric drug analyses, drug-metal complexes, biosensors, and natural compounds. She has served as principal investigator, researcher, and consultant on 57 scientific research projects funded by various institutions, including the State Planning Organization, COST, TÜBİTAK, and university projects. Prof. Aysegul Golcu also provides consultancy services for research projects funded by the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Project Support Program and instills in her undergraduate students an awareness of how to conduct scientific studies in the basic sciences. Prof. Golcu has supervised twenty-seven completed master's/doctoral theses. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences and contributed nearly 500 scientific papers. She has received numerous academic awards for her scientific work at both Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University and Istanbul Technical University. Her Scopus h-index is 23, Google Scholar index is 27, and Google Scholar i10 index is 66. She is involved in the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) actions “D39 - Metallo-Drug Design and Action” and “CM1105 - Functional metal complexes that bind to biomolecules,” and is a board member of the Turkish Chemical Society. He is married and has two children.
