Dr. Hacı Mehmet KAYILI is an Associate Professor of the Biomedical Engineering Department at Karabük University, Türkiye. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Hacettepe University, focusing on analytical techniques applied to biomolecular systems. His research interests encompass proteomics, glycomics, glycoproteomics, mass spectrometry, chromatography, and the development of novel analytical methodologies for biomarker discovery and therapeutic monitoring. Between 2014 and 2015, Dr. Kayılı worked as a visiting researcher in the group of Prof. Dr. Manfred Wuhrer at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), where he gained expertise in high-throughput glycan analysis and mass spectrometry-based glycomics. Dr. Kayılı is the founder and principal investigator of the Glyco-analytical Research Group (GAREG), which focuses on the structural and functional analysis of glycoconjugates in health and disease. He has led several nationally funded projects, including TÜBİTAK 1001, COST, and 1005 programs, and is actively involved in interdisciplinary collaborations at the interface of chemistry, biotechnology, and personalized medicine. In addition to his academic work, he is the co-founder of BIO DESIGN, a research-based startup dedicated to developing diagnostic kits and sustainable biotechnological solutions tailored to population-specific healthcare needs.
